Typhoon Dodong
To
eliminate such fear amongst Filipinos, we created this site to provide
information on one upcoming tropical storm, typhoon Dodong. The typhoon names
that will be used this year 2011 are the names that were used last 2007. Since
Chedeng already left, typhoon Dodong will soon enter the Philippine territory.
Since the name was taken last 2007, here are some information on what occurred when typhoon Dodong entered our country. The international name for Dodong is tropical storm Wutip. It was submitted by Macau, meaning butterfly. Japan Meteorological Agency, JMA, issued on August 9, 2007 that it was downgrading to a tropical depression. Thousands of Filipinos took shelter from the storm as there was a high likelihood over rigorous flooding due to saturated grounds. 32 houses were destroyed back then. 6 people were killed by the storm, 3 people because of electrocution, and 7 people were injured because of tornado. A total of 239,292 people were affected by the storm and damages amounted to Php 16.8 million.
